Wedding Anniversary at the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa, Grand Cayman.

The end of November is a very special month for us as it marks our first wedding anniversary. We got married in Grand Cayman and wanted to celebrate our first year together somewhere special on island. It happened to be that the Kimpton Seafire was opening the very week of our anniversary, so we decided to spend the weekend at Cayman’s newest hotel resort.

From the moment that we stepped through the front doors of the resort we knew we had found somewhere very special. Still holding our glasses of champagne that we had received at reception we opened the door to our room for the next two nights. We were greeted with a spectacular view over the pool area and over Seven Mile Beach. The room was luxurious, spacious, clean, bright and modern. Walking through the resort the luxurious theme continued with the spectacular pool overlooking the beach. We sampled the food at the three main restaurants and were blown away with the food and the excellent service.

We can categorically say that we had an amazing time at the Kimpton Seafire. I hope that we do not have to wait too long before we can stay there again!

Cayman Island Photographers | IMAC Gala 2016

I had the honor of photographing the 2016 IMAC (Insurance Mananagers Association of Cayman) black tie gala and Scholarship Fundraiser. The event, located at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, was the 5th incarnation of the well respected gala. The event included a reception, a delicious dinner, an auction as well an opportunity to get up on the dance floor. All profits from the auction were donated to an educational scholarship fund. Through its scholarship programme IMAC hopes to give back to Cayman through the development of young Caymanian talent. This years scholarship student guest speaker was Erica Erica Powell, who graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Early Childhood. The IMAC Scholarship is providing the funding for 13 students to pursue their overseas college educations, and has sent 38 Caymanian students to complete post-secondary education. The evening was a great success with more proceeds raised for the education scholarship. I always enjoy these corporate events, particularly shooting the photobooths where people can relax and let their hair down. Junior Batabano 2016

A week prior to the Cayman Carnival Batabano, the Junior Batabano 2016 parade took place with local youngsters dancing through the streets in their most colorful parade outfits. This years outfits reflected the theme of “Neverland” with troupe parades of Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, parrots and merpeople amongst others. The bright and colorful display through George Town was supported by a good crowd who cheered the youngsters on.
I had great fun at the parade watching all the various troupes and great dance routines on display. The Junior Batabano was an excellent warm up to the Adult Batabano on Saturday 7th May.
