Beautiful baby Harrison and his parents (including his furry parent) did newborn photos in their lush backyard with golden light. This chilled out family was so fun to work with and was up for anything. Their little pup Una Bella was also very keen to be a part of the shoot and added such a cute element to the already cute little Harrison.

It was such a pleasure to meet this sweet little family! Winsett & Dannish are celebrating the arrival of their precious baby girl and welcoming her into the world. It was a complete joy to photograph this mile stone filled with happiness and love. If I can have a part in making such beautiful memories for them, that means so much to me!

I think I met that goal.

Tell me about your favorite part of our session, or why you enjoyed the session
Watching the baby being positioned, we realized the patience that is required to get that one amazing shot and how cute she looked all wrapped up.

What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a family session?
Be patient and don’t get overwhelmed when your newborn starts to cry. We worked with Tanya and she was very patient, professional and good with kids. I did almost nothing when my daughter got fussy, it was all Tanya she sure knew how to calm her down.
“No matter the experience, the pictures are all worth it in the end.”

Where you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? If so, what were your worries?
I was worried if my pictures were going to look as good as those that were advertised. I must say they were past my expectations!

It feels like I have been photographing many newborn photo sessions over the past month, and I love it!

When you are practicing something so often, in my case posing newborns, it starts to become so natural to you. I feel as though I am mastering the art! At the same time baby photography is not as simple as it may seem. It takes A LOT  of  patience, so please be prepared to get comfortable when you come to your newborn session.

It’s important not to stress and I cannot stress that enough.

Patience is why it was possible to get these peaceful shots! I’m fully equipped to help you to be prepared so that you can fully enjoy this wonderful experience! These are some of my new favorite shots. I absolutely loved everything about this newborn session.

I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Recently I was away visiting family in Florida and had the opportunity to photograph another fellow photographer. It’s so exciting to shoot in new and different locations! Amanda chose the Farmer’s Market for her family portraits. We had a tough time coordinating our schedules but we finally picked a sunrise session! Sunrise sessions are just as good as sunset session! You still get that beautiful golden sun! The only downfall is obviously you have to get up early! Sweet little Julianna was still a little sleepy in the morning but it actually worked out great because I got to capture a ton of snuggles and hugs!!

I love everything about this session….hope you like it, too!

]]> Baby Bump Session on the Beach and in the Studio https://www.picturethis.ky/blog/baby-bump-session-beach/ Wed, 29 Oct 2014 09:37:38 +0000 http://picturethis.ky/blog/?p=1537 Tanya and Justin first came to me for their engagement session a couple of years ago, then followed their wedding which was amazing and NOW they are expecting their little girl. We did some gorgeous shots in the studio of this lovely couple and then met up on another day to do some fun shots on the beach. The day was a little cloudy which made for gorgeous dramatic lighting. Tanya flew off the next day as she is having the baby in America and close to her mum and sister, and then she will be right back to Cayman to bring their baby home.
One thing that is nice about the studio for a ‘bump’ session is we can use the lighting in such a creative way. Tanya did a couple of changes to try and capture an artistic look, once outside on the beach we concentrated on some more natural photographs. I cannot wait to see this little bundle of joy!

Love the sepia toning of these images to give a real classy feel. The baby is so gorgeous and big brother was amazing! For these type of sessions we love to include the older sibling and then dad or grandma can take him for a stroll around Camana Bay while we work on the newborn to get that lovely sleepy look. This takes a little time so the beauty of Camana Bay is you can pop out for a coffee or ice cream or even to play in the fountains with the other siblings. We keep the studio nice and warm for the newborns which keeps them nice and calm.

I was so surprised when she called me again to see if we could do another bump shoot as they are expecting their second baby. We had to involve their gorgeous smiling little man who cannot wait to meet HIS new baby! He was a super star on the beach and we just let him play while capturing some very natural shots for some great keepsake memories for this gorgeous family! It is such a nice idea to capture this amazing time with just their little son before their home becomes a bit busier 🙂

I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this little princess! Oh my goodness…just look how little and just beautiful she is! Mom, dad, baby, and little brother came into the Studio for a Newborn Sleepy Session! We are super excited to be offering these sessions now! They last a little longer than our regular newborn shoots but it’s well worth the time. The goal during our time together is to spend a little more time on newborn posing (while they are nice and sleepy) so we can get them in those beautiful curled up shots! One of the most important things to keep in mind for these sessions is that the baby must be ideally between 4-10 days new! This is when they are still so sleepy and are able to curl up into those beautiful poses you see.  Also, this is the best time before they develop baby acne. We make it our goal to create a beautiful unique portrait of your little person but we also want to photograph mummy and baby and daddy and baby! Because they are only this small for a little while 🙂
Ok ok, enough babbling..now enjoy this beautiful baby!
