Let me say emotions ran high to say the least. A notebook love story is how I’d best describe this wedding celebration. Two widowers to whom had found love for the second time in their lives later in life. Both Jim and Susan had children and grandchildren in attendance which made it even more heartwarming because all the tears that were present for the celebration was that of happiness across the board. The sister island of Cayman Brac played host to the very intimate ceremony where no one had visited before, yet everyone cherished the remarkable beauty and seclusion. Once everyone witnessed Jim’s son put his hand on his fathers shoulder during the ceremony, the onslaught of tears began for everyone including me. Usually photographing weddings in humid temperatures causes sweat to be on my camera viewfinder, in this occasion it was moist due to tears which was fine in my mind.

This Kimpton Seafire Beach Resort wedding brought together the beauty of the beach with the glamour of a presidential suite affair. And that ceremony view! It’s a show-stopper like only Grand Cayman can produce.

Add to that a talented team of vendors including design and floral by Celebrations Ltd. and the result is dreamy destination “I Do’s”. It was such a great pleasure to document the love and joy shared between Shanna, Dick and their family and friends.

Life is short, eat the cake! This is a philosophy that I tend to shy away from as I’m personally more of a savory type than sweet. However, since meeting Lori-Ann Foley, the owner and designer of The Cake Studio – I’ve officially recanted my way of life slightly. She is one of the kindest souls one will ever meet; and its not only because she will spontaneously drops off cupcakes and treats for the photo studio to enjoy. As the premier wedding cake designer in Grand Cayman, I’ve been witness to her countless amounts of ‘works of art’  .. below are some examples! let the salivating begin ..

There was something in the air. Perhaps it was the Caribbean sea breeze or the smell of salt, but friends and family showed up ready to celebrate. Yes, there was a party to be had and dancing to do, but the marriage? THAT was what it was all about. Sandra and Wesley travelled from the United States, never having experienced the beauty of Grand Cayman. Through some research and endless positive reviews, the lovebirds decided that the island was the perfect fit. Wesley and his calm sensibilities is Sandra’s perfect counterweight to her vibrancy. She’s the type of woman who walks in a room and lights it up with her smile, and Wesley encourages her to shine. Together they wed at the historic Elmslie church in Georgetown which was followed by the the reception at The Grand Old House, overlooking the stunning ocean. Yes, something was in the air. It was called LOVE. On a personal note, I felt the traditional Thai Water Ceremony was quite moving! This is a ceremony where guests, led by the elders, pour water on the hands of the bride and groom and offer words of wisdom and blessings.

Jacklyn’s lifelong dream of getting married on the beach finally came true this past September when she and her fiancé Sean exchanged vows by the ocean in an intimate beachfront ceremony in Grand Cayman. Along with their family and friends, the couple partied the night away at the private ocean villa to celebrate what they both agree was a perfect day!

When it came to their wedding day, Jacklyn and Sean knew exactly what they didn’t want – a stiff, traditional church wedding. Instead, the couple gathered up their friends and family, hired an officiant, and got married on the beach at sunset. After their simple ceremony, the couple celebrated with cracking neon lighting, which became their bracelets, necklaces, glasses, etc and plunged into a stunning infinity pool under the moonlight. Keeping their wedding small and intimate allowed the couple to stay true to themselves and have fun in the process!
