The sun was blazing and the music was blaring – it’s the time of year again… Carnival time! We love capturing Batabano in Grand Cayman every year, it’s arguably the Cayman Islands’ biggest cultural event. What’s great about the event is just how much fun everyone who participates seems to have. The energy the Cayman people put into Batabano every year works wonders for the photographers who follow them from Public Beach to George Town. We can’t wait for Batabano next year!

Aloe Blacc Concert | Kimpton Seafire Stage | Grand Cayman

The last couple of years has seen some big name bands come and perform here in Grand Cayman. Last year we had Third Eye Blind perform and this year our eardrums were serenaded with the super talented Aloe Blacc and his equally talented band at the Kimpton Seafire Stage at the Kimpton Seafire Resort & Spa. Performing such chart hits as “I Need A Dollar“, “I’m The Man” and “Wake Me Up” the Cayman audience were soon dancing and singing along to these great tunes. We had great fun shooting the concert and look forward to hopefully capturing future events at this great location.

Camana Bay, New Years Eve 2017

I don’t know about you, but 2016 went by in an absolute flash! Before we knew it, here at Picture This Studios, we were getting preparations ready for New Years Eve. Our colleagues at Camana Bay put on an awesome evening of entertainment. Fireworks filled the skies, music filled the air, and celebrations were shared by all.

What an amazing day watching and capturing Cayman Carnival Batabano 2016. Each year the parade gets bigger, better, louder and even more elaborate. My day started off at Public beach watching the steady influx of Carnival Queens and Kings arrive in their feathered and sequined regalia. At 1pm precisely the procession started with the Flow jumpers leading the parade down West Bay Road. They were closely followed by the likes of Tribal Cayman and Swanky International all the way down to Harbour Drive in George Town. Despite the tired legs, the heat and the occasional one too many drinks everybody looked like they had an amazing day. I for one had great fun mixing with the parades and the crowds and taking images of the day.
