It was such a pleasure to meet this sweet little family! Winsett & Dannish are celebrating the arrival of their precious baby girl and welcoming her into the world. It was a complete joy to photograph this mile stone filled with happiness and love. If I can have a part in making such beautiful memories for them, that means so much to me!

I think I met that goal.

Tell me about your favorite part of our session, or why you enjoyed the session
Watching the baby being positioned, we realized the patience that is required to get that one amazing shot and how cute she looked all wrapped up.

What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a family session?
Be patient and don’t get overwhelmed when your newborn starts to cry. We worked with Tanya and she was very patient, professional and good with kids. I did almost nothing when my daughter got fussy, it was all Tanya she sure knew how to calm her down.
“No matter the experience, the pictures are all worth it in the end.”

Where you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? If so, what were your worries?
I was worried if my pictures were going to look as good as those that were advertised. I must say they were past my expectations!

Newborn Photography | Grand Cayman

It feels like I have been photographing many newborn photo sessions over the past month, and I love it!

When you are practicing something so often, in my case posing newborns, it starts to become so natural to you. I feel as though I am mastering the art! At the same time baby photography is not as simple as it may seem. It takes A LOT of patience, so please be prepared to get comfortable when you come to your newborn session.

It’s important not to stress and I cannot stress that enough.

Patience is why it was possible to get these peaceful shots! I’m fully equipped to help you to be prepared so that you can fully enjoy this wonderful experience! These are some of my new favorite shots. I absolutely loved everything about this newborn session.

I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Bump Session – Maternity – Jonathan and Monica – studio and location

Jonathan and Monica were married in Cayman 3 years ago…. http://www.rebeccadavidson.com/blog/jonathan-monica-fantastic-fun-couple-say-i-do-at-the-marriott-grand-cayman/ but decided when they got pregnant that had to pop back for some maternity pictures. You see….. once family….always family 🙂 I fell in love with these guys and we have stayed in touch for the past couple of years. A few months after the wedding, Jonathan and Monica actually sent Gary and I a pair of personalized converse shoes… I mean who does that???? http://www.rebeccadavidson.com/blog/jonathan-and-monica-surprise-us-with-a-gift/ . So when Jonathan emailed and said they were heading down for this session, I couldn’t wait to see them, J & M took us out for a lovely meal at Ortinique to catch up and we chatted about heading up to their home when the baby was born to photograph their newborn when he arrives in March. Monica had bought a gorgeous bump dress that she purchased off etsy that looked so lovely on the beach. We wanted to make sure we showed off Jonathan’s tattoos 🙂

Picture This Studio’s LOVE newborns and when we get to spend some time with them and position them to curl up and sleep and add props the reward is great! It takes a lot of patience but when they finally get in that perfect position it is precious!

Baby Bump Session on the Beach and in the Studio

Tanya and Justin first came to me for their engagement session a couple of years ago, then followed their wedding which was amazing and NOW they are expecting their little girl. We did some gorgeous shots in the studio of this lovely couple and then met up on another day to do some fun shots on the beach. The day was a little cloudy which made for gorgeous dramatic lighting. Tanya flew off the next day as she is having the baby in America and close to her mum and sister, and then she will be right back to Cayman to bring their baby home.
One thing that is nice about the studio for a ‘bump’ session is we can use the lighting in such a creative way. Tanya did a couple of changes to try and capture an artistic look, once outside on the beach we concentrated on some more natural photographs. I cannot wait to see this little bundle of joy!

Newborn Baby Art Session

This gorgeous little newborn didn’t make a peep during her session. When she was awake we did some beautiful mummy and daddy portraits which are so timeless, we know this time will go so fast and your little one will be bigger ‘tomorrow’. Once she dozed off we put her in our little box for some creative ‘baby art’. Congratulations to this lovely little family and their little miracle of a baby!

Newborn and Big Brother Family Studio Session

We wanted to show a few of our favourites from this newborn session. Love the sepia toning of these images to give a real classy feel. The baby is so gorgeous and big brother was amazing! For these type of sessions we love to include the older sibling and then dad or grandma can take him for a stroll around Camana Bay while we work on the newborn to get that lovely sleepy look. This takes a little time so the beauty of Camana Bay is you can pop out for a coffee or ice cream or even to play in the fountains with the other siblings. We keep the studio nice and warm for the newborns which keeps them nice and calm.

Family Location Session Cayman Islands Lifestyle Photography

We had the great pleasure to photograph Chris and Joann and their two gorgeous little boys before they head off to Toronto, Canada where they are relocating from Cayman. We photographed Chris and Joann’s wedding a few years ago which was amazing so we were very excited to photograph their family now they are 4! We decided to photograph on location at the beautiful Shangril La Bed and Breakfast as it has a lovely little lake in the background and also lots of shade as the baby was only 5 months. It was also easier to distract the older son as he was happy to chuck little coconuts in the lake so he was smiling and happy to play. Well guys, hope to see you again and wish you all the best on your new adventure!

I love this photograph of Joann and the baby, it started to drizzle a little but everyone was happy to keep going and it just passed so quickly and we kept on shooting. But love how we were able to capture a few rain drops!yep our cheeky little monkey!
