Grand Cayman Engagement Session | Danielle and Cecil

First we will tell you Our take on the story about Danielle and Cecil’s Engagement shoot. We were so excited to shoot this happy couple’s engagement session! Knowing Danielle and her family for quite some time, and working with her at many Weddings over the years. Danielle is a very talented steel pan player and we often work together at Weddings, so when she told me she was engaged, I couldn’t wait to meet him and get to know him. Let me tell you, they are perfect for each other! So thrilled I was to shoot this engagement session!
Now here’s Danielle’s take on the day – “I contacted Rebecca about doing the photos celebrating our engagement, as she is a long time family friend and we wanted to use someone we loved so it would be really special. We Chose to go with Dart Park on South Church St. for our shoot, because its a beautiful location with a lot of different options for a backdrop. We used the wooded areas, the big trees, the ocean and even the little house, and ended up with loads of beautiful photos to choose from! Rebecca did a beautiful job of using the light in every location we liked, and always managed to find our good side. I don’t remember what jokes and stories she told to keep us smiling, but she kept us feeling fun and relaxed the entire shoot. She was so good at putting us at ease! We had a fantastic time, and got tons of photos that we absolutely love.”

We had a such a beautiful Photo Shoot with this sweet little family of five, in the Cayman Islands. Of course the beaches are beautiful and most often desired for family portraits, but there are so many different and unique spots around the Island to capture the warmest moments such as these.
Look at this cute little girl with those striking eye in the chair. she’s so lovely. Even though the Scenery is Gorgeous, we usually like to have a few props on our family shoots, check out the funky chair!
Three little siblings, how cute they are and precious are their smiles. These Little girls love their teddy bears, being comforted is relaxing, being relaxed is natural, and that naturally makes for some great photographs. aren’t they as cute as can be? capturing the laughter of children really brings the moment to life. playing in the sand, they are totally in their element and completely content. What more could you ask for!

How sweet are these little girls?! We love these kinds of photos in the studio. Sometimes it get’s little too hot in Cayman and studio sessions are a perfect alternative. Just letting the kids have fun and jump around at their hearts content! Don’t need props just smiles!

These photos make me laugh!! Dancing Princess 1 and Dancing Princess 2Who can jump the highest?!I think it’s safe to say these girls had a good time at the studio!

Surprise Proposal on our very own Seven Mile Beach | Andrew on bended knee asks Ladye to marry him!

Pulling off a surprise proposal is a mission itself… now add the fact that you have to fly in to the Cayman Islands and make those arrangements from overseas is a different story. Andrew arranged for myself to be hidden behind some bushes paparazzi style (while I may add a few tourists were getting very suspicious of me) and when he walked the beach with Ladye, he was to go onto bended knee and propose to his then girlfriend, now fiance. The moments we captured for this sweet couple had me with tears in my eyes plus the the couple in the ocean watching the whole scenario couldn’t contain themselves as they applauded with excitement once Andrew picked Ladye up for a cuddle! Andrew and Ladye met in Cayman while they were both on holiday so it made sense to Andrew to propose to her here. Lets hope they come back for their wedding. 🙂 The proposal happened just in front of WaterColours, a gorgeous stunning condo on Seven Mile Beach. Andrew asked Ladye if they could walk the beach to Royal Palms for dinner, and then popped the question! Ladye’s reaction was priceless!

Cayman Islands E-Session { Sabrina and Matthew } love story island style… Part 1

So I cannot be more excited to have photographed Sabrina and Matthew for their engagement session. Sabrina and Matthew are both originally from Cayman so we are going to have a full blown ‘local’ wedding! I am making this blog post Part 1 as we will be following this couple through their wedding planning and show you their exciting plans for their day as it all unfolds….and then Sabrina will walk down the aisle…..

There are many reasons it is important to take engagement photos once you have become engaged. Fun Family Beach Session – South Sound Surfers Beach

We have had the opportunity to photograph this family before but not at this beach. We always look forward to families that come back to Cayman for their family holiday AND get us to take family pictures again! We get to see the kids grow up! Plus we got to photograph their auntie and uncles wedding….. hopefully they will pop back to see us next year.. miss you guys!!!

I love shooting this family. I love that the kids can just be themselves, jump on the bed, roll in the grass and even blow ‘fairy dust’. At the end of the session we did a ‘trash the family’ and all the girls jumped in the pool including mum! The light was gorgeous towards the end of the day, we did some of the shots inside the house and then wandered outside for some beautifully lit shots around their garden. One thing I really just cannot express is the JOY it is to photograph families in this relaxed atmosphere, no agenda… just get what they give you! So So relaxed and therefore the kids just play and laugh and do so good!

IT&LY Hairfashion’s artist Pasquale Caselle popped into Picture This Studios with this gorgeous model for a promo shoot for Italy Hair. Pasquale, based in California was once a resident of Cayman for a number of years. His clients wont allow him to leave permanently so he has to come back to Cayman once a month. We wanted this session to be a fun session showing the man in action 🙂 So much fun!

Wedding Film – Kristen + Andrew

I just finished up the wedding film for Kristen & Andrew who were such a cool couple. They were young, fun, and very much in love. The wedding was held at Coral Stone and the reception at the Wharf Restaurant. The amazing night ended with sparklers as their guests said goodnight to the couple on the beach. I wasn’t quite sure what track to use for their wedding film. I spent an hour or so searching and searching for the right song. Then I gave up for a while and just listened to music as I sifted through their footage. Then “Let Me In” by Grouplove played in the background. As the song kept playing as I edited, I realized that that was the one. I found the track! I downloaded the song and laid it out on the timeline. Boom! Cut after cut it was the right song. It totally helped me shape this film in a manner that really suited them. Young, fun, and in love. A huge shout out to Juliette Heath from Five Star Events who did an amazing job with planning!

Wedding Film – Dima and Merin – "Can I kiss her now?"

So this post is to show the wedding film of Merin and Dima, filmed by Jason Menor and Gary Hollins of Picture This Studios…. amazing work guys!!!! But I have to add my favourite favourite favourite part of this video is when Dima is asked if he ‘takes Merin to be his wife’ and he says… “Absolutely I Do!” and then asks the marriage officiant ……. “Can I kiss her now?”
Merin and Dimitrijus chose to have their wedding at a private villa in Grand Cayman, Sun Salutations. Merin and her family have a holiday home in Rum Point, called Just for Fun! They wanted to have a special morning ceremony in the gazebo outside next to the water for just the immediate family and then in the late afternoon their traditional wedding ceremony. The morning ceremony was a mix of Indian traditions and it was amazing. Each set of parents escorted the bride and groom out individually where they said their vows and made beautiful promises to each other. Merin’s dad, Robert spoke to Dimitrijus and told him that he was giving him his most precious gift, his daughter. There was not a dry eye in the house :), After that Ceremony the couple went over to Rum Point where they ‘trashed the dress’ and jumped in the ocean. Merin and Dimitrijus are both dancers, so their first dance was incredible. This post is to show their wedding film…. which Jason Menor once again did an amazing job!
