I had such a wonderful time photographing Kirk and Kendra together at south Palms and Surfers beach to celebrate the fact that soon they will be welcoming into the world a new addition to their little family; a baby boy named Koby!

We asked them about their experience and heres what they had to say:

Who are the members of your family and tell me a quick fact about each person:
Kirk Foster and Kendra Foster – started dating on 9th Nov 2008. Married on 9 Nov 2013 and found out we were having a baby on 9 Nov 2015… Seems 9 Nov is a lucky date for us.

Picture this came with us to Jamaica to capture our wedding day and it was a pleasure to have you capture our maternity photos as well.
Mr Miyagi Foster – our fur baby
Koby Foster – due 12 July

Tell me about your favorite part of our session, or why you enjoyed the session
We enjoyed getting sandy at surfers beach. We wanted fun and happy photos. Tanya kept us smiling and laughing the entire time. It was a pleasure to be able to capture such a fantastic seascape while capturing the memory of our growing family in a manner that pays homage to our island heritage.

Tell me about the outfits you wore to the shoot (where you bought them, why you chose them, etc)
Kirk wore a Bohio shirt purchased at  Funky Monkey.

Kendra’s Maternity dress from TAoPaN on Etsy.

What props did you bring and why?
We chose the balloons to depict a celebration and the coconut drinks were just to add an natural island flare.

What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a family session?
Don’t be afraid to get sandy and wet. For our favorite photo we had to wade out in the water and brave the rocks to stand on the reef. The outcome was totally worth it. We will treasure these pictures forever.

Thank you Kendra and Kirk, you guys were awesome to work with!
